For more than half a century, home gardeners have been bringing us their questions and issues. We have university-trained volunteers who can help you tackle those intractable problems! Our diagnostic team specializes in pinpointing plant and pest issues, offering free, research-based advice on effective management strategies for both pests and the overall health of gardens and landscapes.
Providing year-round assistance to home gardeners
During the growing season, WSU Extension Skagit County Master Gardeners host Ask a Master Gardener Clinics in Anacortes, Burlington, Mount Vernon, and Sedro-Woolley.
Gardening advice via email or phone
If you have a gardening issue and cannot get to one of our in-person plant clinics, you can submit your question via email or leave a phone message at 360-395-2368. Alternatively, you can drop samples off at the WSU Extension Skagit County Office between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Please provide your garden location and a detailed description of the problem, plant, or insect. Send digital photos if possible. Also, provide a phone number and email in case we have more questions. The clinic staff meets every other week during the winter to work on the problems, so there may be a short delay in receiving your answer.
