Top Reference Guides (with Recipes)

The TWO most trusted sources for Home Canning and Food Preservation fundamentals are “So Easy to Preserve” and the “USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning“. These books include tips and how-to guides for safely preserving different types of food, care and use of a pressure canner, and most importantly, recipes that have been researched and tested that are confirmed as SAFE. NOTE: Regarding Ball Blue Book: use only the most recent 38th Edition – however, Ball’s research and testing methods have not been confirmed, so it is wise to cross-reference their recipes with tested recipes from the 2 sources above or known safe online resources. Ball Blue Book is available at bookstores or online.
