As a regional faculty member, Alison works across Yakima and Kittitas counties, focusing on youth development research and organizational systems for 4-H Youth Development programs. Her program and research areas include (1) youth empowerment, (2) diversity, equity, and inclusion, (3) arts-integrated STEM, and (4) organizational change. Read more about Alison’s work here.

Bonnie grew up in the Lower Valley.  In 1985 she moved to the Soap Lake area. She was currently working for the Grant-Adams WSU Extension office in Ephrata, before moving back to Toppenish. Bonnie is our Office Coordinator. Bonnie has two children, a son and a daughter and one grandson and one granddaughter. Her and her husband live on a small farm in Toppenish and raise cattle and hay.

Corina Serban is originally from Romania where she earned her Bachelor of Engineering degree in Landscape Architecture in the Horticulture Faculty at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine located in Cluj-Napoca, the oldest and largest institution of higher agricultural science education in Romania.  Read more about Corina’s work here.

Bernardita Sallato

Bernardita Sallato’s areas of expertise are soil and plant nutrition in tree fruit. Her program will be focus on orchard efficiency and horticulture production improvement by managing soil fertility, root growth and water – nutrient uptake.  Read more about Bernardita’s work here.

Patty joined the WSU Extension team in July of 2022.  She supports the Master Gardener Programs for Yakima and Kittitas Counties in a full-time position.  She has long admired the program and now plans to support Master Gardener Volunteers in reaching their full potential for sharing horticulture and environmental stewardship information in their communities.  Read more about Patty’s work here.
