Container Fruit Tree Grafting Workshop: Small is Beautiful!

Posted by melissa.brown1 | January 5, 2026
Western Washington is not conducive to growing stone fruits like peaches and apricots because they suffer from rain-spread diseases. However, growing them in containers that can be covered during the rainy season solves this problem!

This workshop provides directions for successfully growing stone fruits such as peaches, nectarines and apricots. Topics include appropriate containers and soil mixes, pruning for container growing and ideas for keeping the trees dry through the winter and spring.

Each participant will graft and take home their own stone fruit (peach, nectarine, apricot, etc.) tree.
