4-H RECORD BOOKS and Scholarships DUE for County Awards Judging

4-H Record Books are due no later than Tuesday, September 1 by 5pm at the Extension office. Submit completed record books to be judged for county awards. 4-H members: did you know that you have two opportunities to turn in your 4-H record book for recognition? The first opportunity is at the Klickitat County Fair; record books are due August 11. The second opportunity is for the record book judging for county awards. You also have an opportunity to apply for a 4-H record book scholarship.
To qualify for a county 4-H record book scholarship, youth must meet the following requirements:
1. Youth applicant must be an enrolled junior, intermediate or senior 4-H member.
2. 4-H members must complete and turn in a 4-H Record Book for county judging (due by September 1) and earn a Gold Star for completion.
3. 4-H members must submit a scholarship application for the upcoming 4-H year when they turn in their record book for county record book judging (due September 1).
Recipients will be announced at the annual achievement program on October 3, 2015. The number and amount of scholarships awarded will be determined by the scholarship committee, based on the number of qualified applicants and funds available. Scholarships may be used for the upcoming (2015-2016) 4-H year for county and state level educational workshops or youth leadership events approved by the Klickitat County Leaders’ Council.
Scholarship applications will be distributed on Sunday of county fair when record books are picked up. They will also be available to download from our website, http://klickitat.wsu.edu or we can mail them, if requested. All scholarship applications are due by Tuesday, September 1, 2015 for 2015-2016 scholarships. If you need an application, please call the Extension office at 509-773-5817.
