Leader & Parent Passes Order Form – Each leader and parent should submit a form if they will be volunteering at the fair and would like to purchase a discounted pass.
- 3/1: San Juan County 4-H Animal Project Enrollment. All clubs offering animal projects must be established by this date. 4-H members wishing to exhibit an animal at the San Juan County Fair must be enrolled in 4-H Online by this date. - 6/1: San Juan County 4-H Non-Animal (Still Life) Project Enrollment. - Market Beef – You must own your market beef animal by this date to qualify to auction your animal at the San Juan County Fair.

Horse Project Paperwork Deadlines
- 5/15: Horse Certificate and Horse Lease Agreement (PDF) forms are due to your County Extension Office. These forms are necessary so that you can participate in the San Juan County Fair.

San Juan County 4-H Livestock Market Animal Auction Committee Deadlines
In order to participate in the auction, you will need to meet all enrollment deadlines, animal ownership deadlines, and otherwise be a 4-H member in good status. Participation in the auction requires your utmost attention to detail; it will help you develop your marketing and sales experience along with the challenges of raising animals for sale. Your animals will need to meet requirements. Please review ALL auction documents and requirements carefully, and ask your 4-H club leaders for assistance. You will find current Livestock Auction Requirements within the Leaders Council Policy
- 7/1: For all 4-H members who will sell a large animal at auction (market beef, alternative beef, hog, meat goat, lamb), the “Intent to Sell” and “Sifting Committee Memorandum” forms are due to the County Extension Office.
- TBD: Mandatory Livestock Spring Weigh-in at the San Juan County Fairgrounds, starts 2:00 pm (or when inter-island ferry arrives)
- 7/15: “Intent to Sell” and “Sifting Committee Memorandum” for 4-H members who will auction small livestock and/or eggs at the San Juan County Fair.
- 8/14: Final weigh-in day. Livestock members will submit Producer Affidavits and Health Records for their market animals.
Still Life Deadlines
- Sunday before Fair: Still Life Entry Day
- Please note there will be options for 4-H Families to enter Still Life entries. It will be up to families to decide what method of entry they prefer. Meaning WSU Extension in collaboration with the Fair will provide a pick up service to support other islands in entering Still Life entries. Or families/clubs can make arrangements to collaborate and deliver entries to Marie Boe Building. Financial assistance will be provided if needed.
- Wednesday before Fair: Entry Day for following Departments: Food, Horticulture & Table Setting – due by 4pm. Taking entries Tuesday and Wednesday 10am-4pm
Financial Support for Higher Education
- January – February: Washington State University 4-H offers scholarships. Please check the state page for scholarships and deadlines.
- 7/15: San Juan County 4-H financial support applications for higher education are due to the County Extension Office. Applications for the San Juan County “Keys 4-H Award of Merit” and the “Pierre Franklin 4-H Award of Merit”.

Livestock Market Participation Forms
Deadline for these forms: 7/1/2025 due to WSU Extension Office for all large animals; due with Fair Entry Online registration by 7/15/25 for all small animals and eggs.
Producer Affidavits and Health Records Due Wednesday before fair:
Must be vet-checked before unloading animals into stalls.
