Our Urban Tree Canopy – How Is It Doing? Presentation

September 13, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

The Master Gardener Program and Foundation of Clark County are co-sponsoring a presentation on the current state of Vancouver’s tree canopy by Jessica George, Education and Outreach Coordinator, City of Vancouver Urban Forestry. Join us Tuesday, September 13th at 7:00pm for this online zoom meeting.

The value of urban forests is clear. Each tree offers significant benefits to the community. Together these trees form the urban canopy, which provides multiple ecosystem services – improving air quality, moderating the heat island effect, managing stormwater, and providing habitat. In 2021, The City worked with Planit Geo to create an updated tree canopy assessment across Vancouver. Join Urban Forestry to learn about the current state of our community’s urban forest, plans to continue to grow a healthy, equitable tree canopy, and how you can be involved. Register in Advance at https://wsu.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJAtde6rrDIqGtDzcPxF3fckLvBpLwxMnEde. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. You must have a free Zoom account in order to join. Visit www.zoom.com to sign up.
