A father raising three children learned practical cooking, meal planning and budgeting skills through EFNEP while living in a family shelter. By the end of the nine-week series, he was preparing most family meals at home, packing his children’s lunches and involving his sons in grocery shopping and meal preparation. He replaced many processed foods with home-cooked meals featuring fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins—building confidence and healthier habits for his family.
