From Island County Solid Waste: Coupeville and Camano Solid Waste Transfer Stations will ONLY accept Credit Card Payments starting April 2, 2020

In an effort to minimize contact between the public and our employees, beginning Thursday, April 2, 2020 the Coupeville and Camano Solid Waste Transfer Stations will ONLY accept Credit Card Payments from Self-Haul customers. No Cash or Check payments will be accepted.

To protect public health and safety, all Island County Solid Waste Facilities continue to operate on their normal days and times. Please visit the Solid Waste homepage for hours and days of operation.

Help reduce your trips to Solid Waste:

  • Postpone your trip to Solid Waste until you have full cans.
  • Minimize what you bring to the Solid Waste facilities to household or putrescible garbage only (putrescibles are garbage that decompose and get stinky such as food waste, used diapers and pet waste).
  • Leave “Spring Cleaning” to another day or dispose of material at a later time.
  • Compost your yard waste.

If you must visit a Solid Waste facility, take the following actions:

  • Practice social distancing by staying at least six (6) feet from others.
  • Unload and return to your vehicle as quickly as possible.
