June 4, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join WSU Regional Small Farms for our next Dirt Talk event series all about on-farm composting. This is a two-part series for farmers who want to learn more about building, managing, and making high quality compost for use on your farm. Please see details below for Part 2 which is an in-person farm walk.

On-Farm Composting Part 2 – Farm Walk
Date: June 4th, 2024, from 2pm – 4pm
Location: South Kitsap – Address will be given at time of registration
Audience: Farmers

This second class will be in-person at Rokalu Farms in South Kitsap. Bob Gilby, owner of Rokalu Farm, will be going over composting practices implemented on his farm and discussing:
– Troubleshooting common compost pile problems
– Infrastructure needed
– The farms composting methods (what kind of piles/systems do they make? How much compost is produced?)
– How they utilize compost on-farm
– Q&A with Bob and Farmer Networking

Please only register for the farm walk portion of the series if you plan to attend as there is limited space for this event. If you register and are unable to come, we kindly ask that you inform us at least 48 hours before the event so that we may open up registration to other interested farmers.
If you go to register and there are no spaces available, please email to be put on our cancellation list.
