Several demonstration garden beds and free children’s summer programs are managed by WSU Kitsap Master Gardener volunteers.
This whimsical garden, in cooperation with the City of Poulsbo, and Poulsbo Parks and Recreation, was established in 1997. It encompasses more than 30 raised beds of various construction, growing methods and design. WSU Kitsap Master Gardener volunteers plant, nurture and harvest the produce and flowers. All produce grown at the learning garden is donated to Fishline food bank.
Facilitated by Master Gardener volunteers, the free Children’s Program runs on five Mondays from 10am to Noon in June and July. Kids plant, water, search, explore and harvest. They learn about the importance of the garden, play games, enjoy scavenger hunts, listen to stories about nature, and create crafts to take home. Activities are designed for preschool and elementary school-age children. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Donations are welcome.
Master Gardener volunteers are in the garden from 9am to Noon on Thursdays from March to October. They are available to answer your gardening questions.
