Equi-Fair 4-H & Open Schooling Show

This event is judged by Dan Moen. Located at Riverside Arena Corner of Hwy 24 & University Parkway, Yakima, WA. Office opens at 7:00 am – Show starts at 8:00 am. As per riverside arena rules: All riders must wear approved helmets. Bring your own water – No water available on grounds. Showmanship/4-H Fitting & Showing is required to qualify for any high Point Award. Management reserves the right to combine classes.

Pre-entry form and classes can be found by downloading the pre-entry form. 4-H medal classes must be pre-entered two weeks prior to show on March 22nd. Pre-entries are due April 1st and mailed to Kimberly Lansing at 831 N Forsell Rd Grandview, WA. 98930. or emailed to ms.berly@yahoo.com.

Horsemanship for Gaming & Performance with Liz Martinez

. 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (includes 1 hour lunch). 8 hour class – $85. Does NOT include the stall. 12 horse limit. Pre-entry required & due June 20, 2024. More information can be found by downloading the Horsemanship for Gaming & Performance pre-entry form.

Ranch Horse Clinic with Sue Sultze

6 horse limit. Stall NOT included. Pre-paid entry required & due June 17, 2024. More information can be found by downloading the Ranch Horse Clinic pre-entry form.

Class 1 – 8:00 – 10:00 am Beginner ranch Riding

Class 2 – 10:00 am – Noon Beginner Ranch Obstacle

Lunch Break

Class 3 – 1:00 – 3:00 pm Advanced Ranch Riding

Class 4 – 3:00 – 5:00 pm Advanced Ranch Obstacle

Showmanship Clinic with Diane Pixlee

1:00 – 5:00 pm. 8 horse limit per class. Classes to be scheduled as entries come in. 1 hour classes to include beginner and advanced. More information can be found by downloading the Showmanship Clinic pre-entry form.

 

Washington 4-H Horse Program Q and A Session Continue

The Q and A session for parents, leaders, county faculty/staff and 4-H members will continue to be offered monthly on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 pm to June 2024. It will be on the following Wednesdays, March 6th, April 3rd, May 1st, and June 5th. So “mark your calendars”! Come join us anytime with your questions. The zoom meeting ID is 452-082-9765 with no passcode. You must have a zoom account to participate. The meetings are facilitated by Kim Baker, 4-H State Equine Coordinator and/or Jennifer Leach, State 4-H Equine Specialist.

WA State 4-H Equine Science and Horsemanship Series Continues!

Hands-on Fun for Everyone! Every fourth Thursday of the month, 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Zoom! For example, on December 28th everyone learned about Body Condition Scoring. If this is something you may be interested in, be sure to register online or by email to: kim.baker@wsu.edu.
