Position Details:

The Opportunity: As the New & Beginning Farmer Education Coordinator, you will coordinate and implement classes, workshops, networking events, and program partnerships as part of the Washington State University (WSU) Kitsap Farming and Food Systems program. You will also work closely with WSU Regional Small Farms program staff to organize new and beginning farmer classes for audiences across Clallam, Jefferson, and Kitsap counties.

Working under general direction, you will use your knowledge and experience to support the program. You will exercise independent judgment in interpreting and applying rules and regulations, and you will advise program participants and the public regarding program content, policies, procedures, and activities. You will recommend alternative courses of action when needed, engage extensively with the public and partner agencies, and coordinate, schedule, and monitor program activities to ensure they align with program goals.

Additional Information: This is a full time (100% FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime eligible.

Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end one year after date of hire. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.

Monthly Salary: $4,050.92 – $5,829.37 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
