Market opportunities, licensing, and facility resources
Processing fruits and vegetables into value-added products can improve a farm’s net profitability by extending the marketing season and by opening the door to higher-value markets.
Workshop participants will learn about:
- Licensing requirements for food processors and food processing facilities from WSDA and Thurston County staff.
- Available processing facilities in Thurston County.
- WSU Extension research on the market opportunities for processed frozen fruits and vegetables.
