Community Education in 2026

The Clallam County Master Gardeners are presenting many types of community education this year:

  1. The Green Thumb Education Series
  2. Digging Deeper Saturdays
  3. The Homegrown Berries Series

  • Swain’s General Store
    • 1st and 3rd Fridays, May 15 to September 18. 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • Sequim Farmers and Artisans Market
    • 2nd and 4th Saturdays, May 9 to September 26, 8:30 am to 2:00 pm
  • Garden Clinics at Fifth Street Community Garden
    • 2nd Saturday of the month from 10:00 am to 11:30 am including April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8, and September 12.
  • One-on-One Garden Advice from Master Gardeners
    • At 5th Street Community Garden – March to Mid-October from 10:00 am to Noon.
    • At the Woodcock Demonstration Garden – May through October in Sequim on most Thursday mornings from 9:00 am and Noon.

Digging Deeper Saturdays

Workshops and Demonstrations are held on select Saturdays at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden located at 2711 Woodcock Road in Sequim from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. All presenters are WSU-certified Clallam County Master Gardeners.

Homegrown Berries Series

This series is a collaboration between Clallam County Master Gardeners, Lazy J Tree Farm and the Olympic Orchard Society and will be led by seasoned Master Gardeners Jeanette Stehr-Green and Audreen Williams.

Master Gardeners Audreen and Jeanette demonstrate how to prune blueberry shrubs.

The series will include classes at the Dungeness River Nature Center located at 1943 W. Hendrickson Road in Sequim and demonstrations at Lazy J Tree Farm located at 225 Gehrke Road in Port Angeles from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Space is limited and registration is required. Please register for both classes and demonstrations to reserve your spot.

  • February 28 – Pruning Dormant Berries (Demonstration at Lazy J)
  • March 28 – Growing Blueberries in the Home Garden (Class at River Center)
  • April 25 – Selection, Planting, and Spacing of Different Berry Types (Demonstration at Lazy J)
  • May 30 – Growing Strawberries in the Home Garden (Class at River Center)
  • July 25 – Midsummer Pruning and Trellising of Berries (Demonstration at Lazy J)
  • August 29 – Growing Raspberries in the Home Garden (Class at River Center)
  • September 26 – Growing Blackberries in the Home Garden (Class at River Center)
  • October 24 – Fall and Winter Berry Care (Class at River Center)

Woodcock Walkabouts

These in-person guided tours are scheduled for the following Thursdays at 10:00 am. Water conservation will be emphasized at all Walkabout Tours.

27th Annual Soroptimist Gala Garden Show – Saturday, March 21 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday, March 22 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Sequim Boys and Girls Club. Learn more about this special show and the various speakers.

Petals and Pathways Home Garden Tour in Port Angeles – Saturday June 27th

On the Air and In-Print

KONP (AM 1450 and FM 101.7) – The “Garden Talk” Radio Show airs the last Monday of the month from 1:05 pm to 1:30 pm.

KSQM (FM 91.5) – “The Garden Show” airs on Fridays at 6:40 pm. That show will be repeated on Tuesdays at 11:40 am.

Sequim Gazette – The “Get It Growing” weekly gardening column is written by Clallam Master Gardeners and is published from March through October.
