Grant Policy
- Kitsap County 4-H youth, Club Leaders, Superintendents and Certified 4-H Volunteers can apply for a Kitsap 4-H Council Grant for up to $200. Council may award up to 5 Club Grants per 4-H year, not to exceed $1,000 per year. Total grant request amounts are not guaranteed, and approval is up to the discretion of the 4-H Council based on need and available funding.
- Grants are to be used to encourage continuing education and support of youth
in Kitsap 4-H. Funds can be used to purchase materials, pay for meeting
locations, purchase curriculum, help fund shows or project events, help pay for
youth to attend shows, forums, conferences and other state and national
events. Funds may NOT be used for fairgrounds upkeep, ribbons, awards, etc. - Grant applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
- Special requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
- Those requesting a Grant are requested to attend a Council meeting, in person
or virtually to make the request and answer any potential clarification
questions. - Those receiving Grants are requested to attend a Council meeting, in person or
virtually, after the event and give a report. This report should include the
event title, what they learned and enjoyed, as well as how many people it
funds served (approximately). The report should be completed within 90 days
of the event. - Appropriate receipts need to be submitted to the 4-H Council treasurer to
verify the funds received. - Grant requests can be sent to WSU Extension by mail or hand delivered to the
Extension office at 346 6th Street, Suite 550 Bremerton, WA 98370 or emailed to
kitsap.county4h@wsu.edu or kitsap4hleaderscouncil@gmail.com. Please
