
WSU Extension Regional Small Farms Program presents a free webinar for farmers on the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas. This introductory webinar will showcase WSU AgWeatherNet, a free online tool that provides access to current and historical weather data, which can improve production and product quality, optimize resource use and reduce environmental impact.
Topics will include:
-Locating the nearest weather station near you
-Why is this tool important for farmers?
-Horticultural Uses: growing degree days, humidity, rainfall, tracking life cycles of pathogens and pests
-Olympic Peninsula weather patterns
-Tracking drought
-Hydrologic cycle, stream dynamics, and rainfall
