Raising Mason Bees Workshop

What’s all the buzz about Mason bees? Orchard Mason Bees are highly effective pollinators that are very non-aggressive and become active in early spring.   On February 3 at 6pm, Billie Bevers, WSU Master Gardener, will discuss the skills needed for raising Mason Bees.  The 2 hour class covers equipment, seasonal management, bee biology and management of pests.  A FREE 1 hour presentation will be followed by the opportunity to ask questions about the topic.  No need to register, just pop in. The Master Gardener Foundation of Cowlitz Co. is pleased to be able to offer a complete Mason Bee kit along with all you need to know about raising them, with an opportunity to ask questions.  Supplies are limited, so claim your kit today ($30.00 each).  Your kit will include Mason bees cocoons, bee boxes, and straws.

Before you check out, you will be asked to choose a time to pick them up on Saturday February 13, 2021, between noon and 1:00 pm.  We will be practicing COVID safety protocol, so you will be able to drive up, pop open your trunk, and we will place the kit in your car.  Please be on time.  If that time won’t work for you, please send someone to pick it up for you.  Pickup site: south end of the Hall of Justice Parking lot, close to the Training Center where we have held our talks in pre-COVID days.
