Seed Starting Workshop 2024

Cost: $10 (Take home seed starting kit, soil, and seeds)
Optional: $9 germination heat mat (10×20 in.)- one per registration, quantities limited-first come, first served.

Want to learn how to grow your own food or flowers? Anyone can do it! On Saturday, March 2, at 10 am, WSU Master Gardener Alice Slusher will walk you through the steps of preparing the planting medium and planting the seeds and timing, proper lighting, and watering techniques. If you’ve never started your vegetables from seeds, or haven’t been successful in the past, then this class is for you. A demonstration on planting seeds will follow the presentation.

Attendees will take home seed starting kits and seeds to begin their at-home gardening experience.

You will have the option to purchase a 10×20 inch germination heat mat for $9. It’s first come, first served; one per attendee, please. Passing our savings on to you at cost!

All attendees MUST REGISTER AND PAY ONLINE. Credit card payment is preferred, but you may pay by check by choosing that option at checkout. If you choose the latter, you may mail or drop off a check at our office, and we must receive your payment before the workshop. WSU Extension Office, 304 Cowlitz Way, Kelso WA. Hours M-Th 9 am-1 pm.

The workshop will be held in Longview. You will be given the location after you have registered. Walk-ins cannot be admitted.

Enrollment is limited to 30 people. The cost is $10. All attendees must pre-register and pay online. We cannot accept checks or cash at the workshop.
