September 8, 2026

Call to Order at 6:30 pm – Pledge of Allegiance and 4-H Pledge

  1. In attendance: Andrea- Country Pride, Melody- Sparkling Spurs, Donna- Sparkling Spurs, Brittany- Barrel Blazers, Krystal- Ridge Creek, Jennifer- Ridge Creek, Farralee- GH 4-H Council, Tracie- WSU Extension
  2. Approval of Previous Minutes: Minutes for both July and August were reviewed. Motion by Brittany, second by Melody. All in favor, motion passed.  
  3. Treasurer’s Report: Brittany gave the Treasurer report.  Expenses for August were $1,582.74, with a remaining account balance of $6,850.97.
  4. Extension Report: Tracie gave an update on Extension. Our qualifying youth are off to State Fair this month!  The new 4-H year begins October 1. 
  5. Upcoming Dates: Tracie went through the upcoming calendar. Club Kick off will be held on October 6.  There are also 2 September dates for Volunteer Essentials scheduled (9/23 & 9/27).
  6. General Council: Farralee gave the General Council report. The council has been already preparing for the Celebrate our Kids event in November. There will also be dates soon for an Audit Party for club financials.
  7. Fun Activity: Tracie provided ice cream for tonight’s fun activity.  Maddie from Ridge Creek will host next month’s activity.
  8. Old business:
    1. State Fair Decorations- The flag stands will not be available. Discussion was had to create smaller flags for next year.
    2. Bank Signers- Bank signers will be addressed after elections.   
    3. Addition of items to State jackets- Andrea was in contact with Dirt Don’t Hurt, and they are able to add items to the sleeves of the state jackets. 
  9. New Business:
    1. Schedule 26/27 yearly planning session/ committee creation- We will hold a planning session on November 17th @ 6:30 pm.
    2. Fair Entry status- Andrea and Tracie already promoted all the youth ahead to State.  If there are any issues once there, the youth/family should check with the State office.
    3. State Team Jackets- Jackets should be ready for all youth that needed one this week.  The cost for families is $20 per jacket with the remaining balance to be paid by the Horse Council.
    4. Colt Training Completion- Harley completed her colt training project this year and an award will be purchased to be awarded at the Celebrate our Kids event.  The Council approved $100 for the award, plus the cost of tax and shipping. Motion made by Brittany, seconded by Donna, all in favor. Motion carried.
    5. Buckles for “Outstanding” Awards- Buckles will be purchased at Molly’s again.  There are 15 buckles to be awarded this year!!!  The Council approved an each buckle cost of up to $115, plus the cost of tax and shipping. Motion made by Donna, Seconded by Brittany, all in favor. Motion carried.  Andrea will contact Molly’s directly to see if they will approve a 4-H discount. 😊
  10. Meeting was adjourned at 7:12 pm
