This year, the Workshop offers an expanded educational format alongside our popular individual classes. The Workshop theme of gardening for Beauty, Bounty, and Benefit will be the focus of three Themed Sessions. Each session will feature 3 horticulture experts with unique presentations on related topics, followed by a Q&A panel.

You’ll also find an inspiring selection of individual Focused Classes that the Workshop is known for. Topics range from beekeeping to the importance of bats in our ecosystem; tips on growing orchids, hostas, and peonies; creating an urban food forest with vegetables, herbs, fruit, and nut trees. Classes on cultivating drought-tolerant gardens or discovering more about marine and shore plants will expand your gardening options. There’s something for every interest and experience level.

On Saturday, Donna Balzer will give the keynote presentation. Donna is a sought-after speaker, garden consultant and author who studied horticulture and learned to garden on the prairies of Canada. She then moved to the Pacific Northwest and explored gardening in a very different environment. Donna will share what she has learned from successes and failures throughout her gardening adventure.

Friday, March 3 you can take part in hands-on, indoor practical sessions and garden tours in locations across Whidbey and Camano Islands.
