Teen Wins National Contest

ENUMCLAW, Wash. – She’s careful to stay out of the way when they come near but Elise Dunning is now a huge advocate of the small honey bee.
Recently awarded first place in the National 4-H Beekeeping Essay Contest, Dunning, 14, has a thirst for knowledge and a passion for writing. To address the topic of “Reducing the Usage of Bee-Killing Pesticides in my Community,” she learned about the declining population of honey bees worldwide and how toxic chemicals may be contributing to their demise. <see full article in WSU News>
