Food $ense has been celebrating Food Day all week through a variety of activities encouraging our communities to eat well and eat real! Food Day is a national celebration on October 24th that inspires all Americans to think about where our food comes from and what that means for our health, our communities, and our future. Events all over the country have been planned to bring Americans together to celebrate and enjoy real food and to push for improved food policies. Find out more about Food Day at foodday.org
At Food $ense, every day is Food Day! To celebrate healthy eating this week, we coordinated with several other nutrition action-related organizations in King County to participate in an “Washington Apple Crunch” activity. We asked our community partners to take a minute to bite into an apple grown here in Washington in the name of better health and better food. Take a look at some of our Apple Crunch-ers in action below, and Happy Food Day!
