Horsemanship & Safety Training Day will be Saturday, March 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Manastash Room. This training day is open to all 4-H Horse project members, Cloverbuds are encouraged to come! Anyone in 4-H is welcome to attend. The Beef Work Day has been changed to Sunday, March 10 from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and the location will be the Bloom Pavilion at the Fairgrounds. Bring your steer and equipment. They will be working on Fitting and Showing and judging. There will also be a practice show ring set up. We look forward to seeing any beef members that would like to participate. First 4-H Horse Judging
There will be two judging contests held. Youth enrolled in the Horse Project are required to participate in one county horse judging event to be eligible to compete at the Kittitas County Junior Horse Fair and complete the 4-H year. For intermediate and senior members to be eligible to judge on the Kittitas County 4-H State Horse Judging team, they must judge in both county judging events completing oral reasons. The 4-H Bread Baking Contest is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, in the Ellensburg High School Home Economics room. Set up is at 8:00 a.m. and baking begins at 8:30 The contest is open to junior, intermediate and senior members in the Foods & Nutrition project. This contest is a qualifying event for State 4-H Fair in Puyallup in September. Juniors may compete at State Fair with a quick bread entry (time limit of 2 hours).
