Small animals encompasses multiple projects that members can be a part of. These projects are great for those who live in areas which raising large animals is difficult, but still have a great appreciation for animals. Small animal projects and the objectives they wish to achieve at Kittitas County at this time are:

  • Rabbit
    • learn and apply recommended principles of rabbit production
    • demonstrate a knowledge of sound breeding, feeding, and management practices
    • identify types and varieties of rabbits and employ efficient marketing methods
  • Cavy
    • select and judge cavies
    • feed, house, and keep cavies healthy
    • groom and show cavies
  • Poultry
    • learn and apply recommended principles of poultry production
    • demonstrate a knowledge of sound breeding, feeding, and management practices
    • identify breeds, types of poultry, and employ efficient marketing methods
