Objectives
Small animals encompasses multiple projects that members can be a part of. These projects are great for those who live in areas which raising large animals is difficult, but still have a great appreciation for animals. Small animal projects and the objectives they wish to achieve at Kittitas County at this time are:
Rabbit
- learn and apply recommended principles of rabbit production
- demonstrate a knowledge of sound breeding, feeding, and management practices
- identify types and varieties of rabbits and employ efficient marketing methods
Cavy
- select and judge cavies
- feed, house, and keep cavies healthy
- groom and show cavies
Poultry
- learn and apply recommended principles of poultry production
- demonstrate a knowledge of sound breeding, feeding, and management practices
- identify breeds, types of poultry, and employ efficient marketing methods
