Pressure Canner Dial Gauges Tested

canned food
The USDA recommends having dial pressure canner gauges tested annually. Making sure the gauge is working properly is a precaution that should be taken seriously. If the dial gauge on your pressure canner does not register correctly, you could be jeopardizing the safety of the food you just canned. *Please note that weighted gauge canners do not have to be checked.

The WSU Pacific County Extension office offers FREE testing of dial pressure canner gauges during office hours. Please remove the gauge from the canner lid prior to testing.
