TROUBLESHOOTING
Here is an overview of common issues we anticipate, and very brief suggestions for solutions:

Can’t connect to Webinar/Meeting | STEPS TO JOIN AN EVENT
Please sign in 10 minutes early. Events will start on time. Prior to clicking on the link to join an event: 1. Launch the Zoom application (start/open the Zoom software) 2. Sign into your Zoom account. 3. Then click on Zoom link. Use the link in the SUMMIT INFO email (NO LINKS in the Registration email)

Zoom errors or issues | Check if Zoom software is up-to-date. Download the latest version here: https://zoom.us/download

Zoom says you don’t have an account | Create an account here: https://zoom.us/freesignup/

Zoom user’s account locked or to change Zoom user’s password

Link in Confirmation email doesn’t work | Exit Zoom and start over:
Prior to clicking on the link to join an event: 1. Launch the Zoom application (start/open the Zoom software) 2. Sign into your Zoom account. 3. Then click on Zoom link. Use the link in the SUMMIT INFO email (NO LINKS in the Registration email)
Still doesn’t work: reboot computer and try again

Don’t know the Webinar ID/passcode | Don’t need these if you follow the link in the SUMMIT INFO email
|
Used SUMMIT INFO email link but it says the Webinar link is invalid/expired
|
Find the latest SUMMIT INFO email for the link to the current sessions |
Can’t find email with links | Email subject line : SUMMIT INFO [Workshop Title]
Email is “From” sji.agsummit@wsu.edu

No sound | Turn speakers off and then back on
Test speakers Make sure Zoom is set to use the correct speakers If your speakers require power, make sure they’re plugged in/turned on

No video | Note that “wait” screen will be shown until the broadcast starts
If the broadcast has not started but you can’t see the “wait” screen, or if the broadcast has started and there’s no video, exit Zoom and then restart, using the link in the Confirmation email Still doesn’t work: reboot computer and try again

Not seeing on screen what the presenter is describing | Change the Zoom View (top-right corner of the screen) and then change it back (refreshes the view)

Screen freezes or video/audio is spotty | Possible Internet/Wifi/bandwidth issue
Turn off any other devices that are using Wifi Turn off any other apps that are running on your device Exit Zoom and then return to the link in the Confirmation email and try again Still doesn’t work: reboot computer and try again

Chat doesn’t work | The chat function may or may not be enabled for the event; s not enabled for this Webinar; send technical issues to sji.agsummit@wsu.edu or enter content questions in the Q&A box

I can’t turn on my video camera | Video access is not enabled for Webinar attendees

Zoom isn’t working on my smart phone, tablet, or other mobile device | Recommended hardware for the Ag Summit is a computer; a mobile device may work, but this is not a supported scenario and we cannot assist with device-specific issues |
