The Beginning Animal Safety Education (BASE) team is excited to announce the official release of our BASE website. This project was funded by a generous donation from the Brown Family. The project team is comprised of department-based and county-based Extension specialists with expertise in animal science and youth development. Our goal was to create an interactive website aimed at teaching youth about animal behavior and safe animal handling practices. The website is educational, yet fun. Our first species of interest was swine but we intend to expand the website to several other species, as well as scale up to additional age groups.
