A program for grades 3-5

This curriculum is an experientially based sequential nutrition curriculum that teaches youth how to have a healthy lifestyle while reinforcing behaviors that promote nourishing eating habits and an active lifestyle.

The program is a minimum of 6 lessons taught in 30-minute or 45-minute sessions using age-appropriate content, activities and handouts making learning about healthy eating fun for all students.

Lesson topic areas include:

  • Nutrition
  • Food safety
  • Physical activity
  • How media influence nutrition and body image

SNAP-Ed is funded by USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program provides nutrition assistance to people with low income.
