Spaces to plant, grow and imagine.

WSU Extension Master Gardeners are you volunteer community educators, providing free research-based horticulture and environmental stewardship practices to build and support healthy and resilient communities.

 

Our WSU Extension Pierce County Master
Gardener Puyallup Children’s Programs engage young people and their families in the natural world through crafting, gardening and storytelling in the garden. Come play and learn with us! Visit us in the garden or say hi at local events and fairs!

May 6 - Ready Set Grow

Spring is time for planting. Join us to explore seeds & soil as we get the garden growing!
Knowing how to grow our own food helps us make healthy choices and care for our family and community. We invite young people and their families to investigate the soil beneath our feet and to learn new ways to care for this life sustaining resource.

 

May 20 - Stepping Stones

Take a step into the garden. Make your own stepping stone to take home.
Spending time and having fun as a family in the garden and in the great outdoors contributes to the individual health of family members and the community.

 

June 3 - Frogs VS Toads

Are you more like a frog or a toad? We will have fun comparing eye colors, eye shapes and jumping vs. hopping.

June 17 - Worms!

Discover how cool worms are! They eat our food waste and make our veggies and flowers grow. We invite young people and their families to investigate the soil beneath our feet and to learn new ways to care for this life sustaining resource.

July 8 - Fairies and Gnomes

Make a fanciful dish garden.

August 5 - Pollinators

Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, moths, bats and even the wind! Have lots of fun discovering how our pollinators make flowers, fruit and veggies grow!
Learning about and understanding how important bees and other pollinators are and how we can protect and care for them is necessary to protect our food supply.

October 7 - Fall Fest

 

Celebrate the garden and help harvest the veggies that were planted during the summer.
