Green Thumb 2024 – Changing Garden and Gardener – How to Adapt

February 22 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free
Learn how to garden in a healthier way with NW Horticulture expert Marianne Binetti.

Change is on the way, whether it’s our warming climate or our maturing bodies. These issues mean we need to use different tactics to keep our gardens growing and bodies going strong. Learn how to garden in a healthier way as our climate grows warmer and our bodies age by joining northwest horticulture expert Marianne Binetti for the Green Thumb Education Series Zoom Only presentation “The Changing Garden and the Changing Gardener: How to Adapt.”

The presentation will be held Thursday,  February 22nd from noon – 1:00 p.m. via Zoom using PC, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android. (Note the presentation will not be recorded. Join us Live!)

Find a direct link to the presentation here.

Or join by phone: 253-215-8782

Meeting ID: 936 2989 8830

Passcode: 676224

Marianne will share growing tips like how to protect plants during a heat wave and how to use those that are more drought resistant. She’ll delve into how to use the proper tools for the job and appropriate body mechanics to avoid injury while gardening. Marianne will also have some fun ideas to add whimsy and joy to your outdoor space.

Marianne has a degree in Horticulture from Washington State University, has written or co-written ten garden books, writes a syndicated weekly garden column that runs in several newspapers including the Daily Olympian and Tacoma News Tribune and has appeared on HGTV and as a radio and television host. This February she will return to the Northwest Flower and Garden Show in Seattle as emcee for the popular “Container Wars” competition every day of the show. She and her husband Joe lead garden tours around the world. This May you are invited to join her to experience the Islands of New England tour. Visit her website at www.binettigarden.com for more information.

The Green Thumb Education Series, sponsored by the Washington State University Clallam County Master Gardeners, is held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month through October. In November, December, and January, one lecture is offered. Scheduled presentations are subject to change.
