The Peninsula Food Coalition is a network of food banks, resource providers, food access organizations, state and local government and food systems innovators that meets monthly to develop collaborative solutions to strengthening our regional food system.
Because we face unique geographic challenges in addressing hunger on the Olympic Peninsula, the Peninsula Food
Coalition works to collaboratively develop solutions for recovering, storing, and sharing our local abundance to build food system resiliency and sustainable access to fresh and local food.
The Peninsula Food Coalition meets on the first Thursday of every month on Zoom, with occasional in-person meetings.

The power of networks to create food systems change
The Peninsula Food Coalition has been convened by WSU Clallam County Extension’s Community Health program coordinator since 2015, shortly after it was founded by the former of the Sequim and Port Angeles Food Banks.
In 2026, the Peninsula Food Coalition merged with a Jefferson County Food Security Network convened by the Jefferson Community Foundation as a response to the covid pandemic in 2020,.
Among many accomplishments, the Peninsula Food Coalition’s collaboration has led to the development of a robust Farm to Food Pantry Program, a Food Pantry Resource Hub, a Nutrition Policy for Olympic Peninsula Food Banks and successful grant projects such as Comfort Cafe/Welcome Home Food.
