State Fair Contests & Exhibit Opportunities

Presentations (Demonstrations), Livestock Judging, Sewing Judging, Foods & Nutrition Judging, Fashion Revue, Kitchen Activities contests, Performing Arts (non-judged activity), 4-H In Action (1 hour minimum – non-judged presentation), Robotics in Action (non-judged), Educational Displays, Photography, Arts, Crafts and other Project Exhibits, and MORE!  Qualification is required for contests and some activities – but not all!

Commodity Presentation Program
LOT 1 – Intermediate – any commodity grown in Washington State
LOT 2 – Senior – any commodity grown in Washington State

Participation in the Commodity Public Presentations will be limited intermediates and seniors who have received a blue ribbon placing at the county level. There is no limit as to the number of presentations from a county in each lot. Cash awards for Champion and Reserve Champion will be presented in both the intermediate and senior age divisions.

Still-life Exhibits

Thinking of taking or sending a project related still-life exhibit on to State Fair?
(photography, artwork, craft, sewn items, etc.)
Be sure you are ENROLLED in the specific project by the Lincoln-Adams project enrollment deadline of July 15th and BEFORE you enter at the local Fair.

Exception to Project Enrollment Requirement:
CREATIVE KIDS PROJECTS!

  • All participants must be properly enrolled 4-H members in the State of Washington.
  • Creative Kids Projects are open to all 4-H members, regardless of 4-H project enrollment.
  • There is no pre-qualification at the county level for Creative Kids Projects. It is not required that entries be exhibited at the county level.

WA State Fair Horse Events

4-H Events are held annually at the WA State Fair in Puyallup WA the first 3 weeks of September!

The Summer Sizzler 4-H Horse Show is  currently the only Qualifying Show for Equine Performance and Western Games for Lincoln and Adams Co. participation at the WA State 4-H Fair in Puyallup. Details will be posted on the Summer Sizzler 4-H Horse Show page. This year the show will be held July 28, 2018 at the Lincoln Co. Fairgrounds in Davenport WA. RSVPs will be required and the show will be cancelled if a minimum number of RSVPs are not received. 

There are other horse related activities at State Fair such as Horse Judging Contest, Groom Squad Contest, and National Equine Presentations (for senior 4-H members.) If interested, contact Karen Robertson at the Extension Office at 509-659-3209. Participation in a qualifying event or prior experience/competition will be an expectation.
