Northwest Activity Summary

Cooler, but still dry, over the past 24 hours with windy conditions on the east side. No lightning and no rain. Significant fire growth in NE Washington and Eastern Oregon. Six Type 2 IMTs teams committed, four teams in Northeast Washington and two teams in Eastern Oregon.

Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 3,750 acres  (-450). 0% containment. Grass and Timber. Active fire behavior with wind driven runs, torching and spotting. Structures destroyed. Evacuations and evacuation notices in effect.

Wellesley WA-NES-000807. Start 8/21. 7 miles NE of Spokane, WA. 250 acres (+50). The fire is lined. Mop-up progressing.

Yale WA-NES-000808. Start 8/21. 12 miles S of Spokane, WA. 3,500 acres (-500). Active fire behavior.


Hart/Cayuse Mountain WA-NES-000806.

13 miles N of Davenport, WA. Start 8/21. Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 6,000 acres. Grass and Brush. Structures threatened. Evacuations in effect. State Mob authorized 8/21.


Deep North WA-NES-000802.

25 miles NE of Colville, WA. Start 8/21. Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 800 acres (+200). Timber. Active fire behavior. Evacuation notices in effect. State Mob authorized 8/22.
