Joe Holtrop, of the Clallam Conservation District, will discuss landscaping with native plants. His presentation will cover some very basic landscape design principles, common native trees and shrubs and how to incorporate them into residential landscaping, how to care for bare-root plants, and some tips on site preparation and planting. Find a link to the Zoom presentation here.

Joe has undergraduate and graduate degrees in landscape architecture and a master’s degree in adult education. He has been promoting “natural landscaping” in Clallam County since 1989, when he started working for the Clallam Conservation District.

Green Thumb Garden Tip Series Presentations are held from 12 to 1 pm on the second and fourth Thursdays of most months. Talks are currently only being offered by online streaming, due to current social distancing concerns with COVID-19. Please see instructions for accessing the live stream. Presentations and associated printed materials will be archived on the local articles and archived presentations portion of our website. These events are free, but donations to help support the WSU Clallam County Extension Master Gardener program are appreciated.
