MASTER GARDENER PROGRAM — MGs in the News
Published: June 29, 2016
Vancouver — National Pollinator Week this year was June 20 through 26. Master Gardeners of “all stripes” took the opportunity to dress up as their favorite pollinator and take wing at the Recycled Arts Festival. Twelve intrepid volunteers came out of the woodwork when the song Flight of the Bumblebee began to play over the loudspeaker around 12:30 on Saturday, June 25.
After visiting colorful pinwheel flowers and handing out wildflower seed packets and children’s activities, the group “swarmed” into position for a short Conga line! The pollinators then headed up on stage where a few of them introduced themselves and they shared tips about pollinator conservation. A fun time was had by all!
