Thurs., Oct. 6, 2016 8 a.m. SHARP – 5:30 p.m.

Travel to the scenic Washington Coast to see how native North American cranberry fruit is grown and harvested and learn the fascinating history of this tart fruit.

Our first stop is The Pacific Coast Cranberry Research Station where we’ll learn how cranberry bogs operate and see how they handle pest control.

Just across the parking lot is the Pacific County Cranberry Research Museum and Gift Shop. We will take a walking tour of the museum to see the fruit production phases, including bog preparation, planting and the journey to market. The gift shop has unique cranberry products to purchase and you won’t want to miss their cranberry ice cream!
