Senior/Assisted Living Center Gardens

A Senior/Assisted Living Center Garden is a place where nature is invited to bloom. And people are too. It can be located within a courtyard, outside a window, or have meandering paths with beds high enough to accommodate wheelchairs and scooters.

“Gardening helps facilitate mental stimulation for seniors, and it provides an opportunity for them to get physical activity. Bringing things from the garden into the facility for them to see and smell, such as herbs and flowers, is so good for them, especially for those who are unable to go outside. It’s about helping them experience a little bit of nature.”
— Julie Strayer Thoma, Garden Coordinator at Elite Care
