A free fishing derby for youth ages 15 years and younger will be held on Saturday, June 11 at Princess Pine 4-H Camp on Lake Thomas. The fun filled day of fishing and related natural resource activities begins at 9 am and concludes at 1 pm. The day includes a casting contest hosted by the Lake Roosevelt Walleye Club; working with a stream table, making fish prints, and stories in the Salmon Tent. Of course there will be lots of fishing. Prizes, hot dogs, and s’mores will be provided.  Adults are encouraged to attend and help their children. The fishing derby is free to attend and will be held rain or shine, so plan on joining the fun. Event is hosted WSU Stevens County Extension and the U.S. Forest Service (Colville National Forest).
