Below are helpful tips on various personnel topics. If your question is not answered here, please send us an email at ebot.support@wsu.edu.
I want to…

To fill a vacancy with no changes to the position description, submit the AP/CS Recruitment Request Form.
After submission, an EBOT coordinator will reach out with further information on the recruitment process.

Visit the Employee Request and Correct Time Off guide to learn how to request an absence in Workday. Online training may be taken through Percipio. EBOT also conducts a time and leave open house training once a month. View the EBOT Calendar for dates, times, and meeting links.
View time entry instructions on the Workday Knowledge Base guide. Extension employees may also attend the monthly open house training on time and leave. See the EBOT Calendar for dates, times, and meeting links.

If you are a current employee, new employee, supervisor, or retired employee, visit HRS Benefits to view information on benefit eligibility by employee type, new employee benefits, benefit forms, what to do if resigning from WSU, and more.
View more information on PFML and other leave of absence types at the HRS Medical Leave & Accommodation website.
The State of Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) program benefits eligible workers and is administered by the Employment Security Department (ESD). PFML is a mandatory statewide insurance program funded at WSU by Employer and Employee premiums. When leave is taken, the benefit is paid by the State of Washington rather than the employer.
Send an email to your supervisor requesting access to financial reporting to track your expenses and balances for your grant and/or program account(s). They will send a request to EBOT requesting security access to view the financial reports for the accounts you have requested.
Annual reviews/performance evaluations for Civil Service and Administrative Professionals are initiated by the employee through Workday, and then routed to the supervisor/manager for review. To initiate your annual review, click on the Performance tab on the left-hand side of your profile in Workday. From there, click on the Start My Performance Review button to begin. You can also view past performance evaluations that were initiated and completed in Workday.
See UPPM 85.45 for using a cell phone for business purposes. This policy governs the use of, and payment for, cellular devices (e.g., cellular telephones; smart telephones) required for business purposes by Washington State University.
The policy applies when a supervisor and appointing authority determine that an employee holds a position which meets the eligibility criteria as described below.
Approval is based on actual job requirements of the faculty or staff member. The supervisor and appointing authority are responsible for determining if the position duties and responsibilities require an employee to receive a University issued device, or an allowance to offset the expense associated with the business use of a personal device. (See also UPPM 60.10 regarding appointing authority and UPPM 55.70 for procedures regarding cellular device allowances.)
What should I do if…
Contact your supervisor and talk with them about it. If necessary, they will reach out to the department administrative manager for help.
Write a resignation letter and send it to your supervisor. They will forward it to the departmental administrative manager, who will send it on to EBOT for processing in Workday.
