Join WSU Regional Small Farms on Monday, July 15 from 2pm – 4pm for our next Dirt Talk Farm Walk out at Joy Farm in Sequim, WA. Farmers Elli and Balyn will be opening up their farm and sharing their experiences farming in dry times. They will cover topics such as:

  • Crop planning for lower water needs at the end of summer
  • Which crops do well with modified dry farming techniques
  • Soil management techniques for water conservation
  • Efficient use of sprinklers
  • Perspective on conserving irrigation water and dynamic irrigation systems that are unique to Dungeness water users in the Sequim area.

Representatives from the Clallam Conservation District and the Natural Resource Conservation Service will be on hand to share information about local support and services that they offer for farmers who irrigate.

All farmers are encouraged to share their experiences, perspectives and water saving tips by participating in a round table discussion at the end of the event.
