Do you want learn about and explore shorelines and sea life? The Kitsap Peninsula is nearly surrounded by water, making it an amazing place to learn about the stars, clams, crabs, birds, bugs and other cool critters, seaweeds, and plants that live on our beaches. We also discuss Salish Sea oceanography and shoreline living, conservation and restoration.

This 6 week non-credit training is open to the public and taught by local and regional experts
When: Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm April 13 through May 18
Where: SEA Discovery Center (Formerly Poulsbo Marine Science Center)
Cost: $75, which includes a book and laminated ID cards; scholarships are available
Who: Adults and teens; children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult
During the training and field sessions you’ll have the opportunity to connect with experts and other local people who share your interests. We also provide opportunities for continuing education and involvement in volunteer activities around the county, including acting as a naturalist for community beach explorations and children’s field trips, and conducting beach profiles, sea star monitoring, and outreach at local events.

*Thurs. April 27th 11:30a-1:30p – Lions Park, Bremerton, meet near boat launch
*Sat. April 29th 1p-3p – Manchester State Park, near restrooms
*Thurs. May 11th 12-2p – Fay Bainbridge, meet near north end of parking lot
*Sat. May 13th 12-2p – Kitsap Memorial State Park, meet near playground
*Thurs. May 18th 4:30-5:30 – Liberty Bay WF Park, meet at gazebo
