WSU Kitsap Extension is thrilled to announce an exciting upcoming event that will bring together nature enthusiasts, artists, and journaling enthusiasts for a day of creativity, exploration, and connection with the natural world. Join us for an unforgettable Nature Journaling Event on August 6th.

What is Nature Journaling?
Nature journaling is a unique way of capturing the beauty and wonder of the natural world through a combination of observation, sketching, and writing. It’s a perfect opportunity to slow down, immerse yourself in nature’s enchanting embrace, and express your thoughts and feelings on paper. Whether you’re an experienced artist or a complete beginner, this event is designed to inspire and engage everyone.

Details: We will meet at the Rhododendron Preserve Big Tree trailhead (2401 Seabeck Hwy NW, Bremerton) where your leads Rebekah Boettcher and Anna McClelland will be waiting. After introductions and a hike in, we will spend the morning learning how to nature journal at the Big Tree (total hike: 1.5 miles). Please note, there are no designated sitting areas at this location—we will primarily sit on the ground or stand during this event.

About your event leads: About the event leads: This adventure into nature journaling, being present in nature and playing in nature will be led by Rebekah Boettcher and Anna McClelland. Rebekah is a Stream Steward and Beach Naturalist volunteer with WSU Kitsap Extension Water Stewardship Program, an avid nature journaler, and both a naturalist and educator. Anna is the Project Assistant for WSU Kitsap Extension Water Stewardship Program with a background as an artist, conservationist, and outreach educator.
