Blueberry Pruning
Love juicy, sweet just-picked blueberries from your own bushes? Not sure how to keep them performing at their best? Join Master Gardener and landscape designer, Beth Goodnight for a workshop on blueberry pruning, Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016
10 AM to 12:30 PM at the 78th Street Heritage Farm; 1919 NE 78th St., Vancouver, WA 98665.
Free. No registration necessary.  We’ll view a couple of short videos on blueberry pruning basics: when to prune, choosing which canes to cut, and where to cut them. Beth will discuss tools, garden sanitation, and how pruning is part of a sustainable and organic approach to blueberry plant care. Then we’ll head out to the on-site blueberry patch to practice our skills.

Make this year your best blueberry season yet! Dress appropriately for the weather and bring water, garden gloves, and a pair of sharpened loppers or hand bypass pruners if you have them.

This workshop is put on in conjunction with Clark County Environmental Services. It is free and no registration is required.
