WSU Master Gardeners Program Presents: Blueberry Park Kids Cultivate!
Wednesdays, 10:30 to 12:00 from July 13th through August 10th
This summer join WSU Master Gardeners for five consecutive Wednesdays at Blueberry Park Children’s Garden to learn about bugs, composting and veggies, and construct cool take-home crafts! One or more adults must accompany each group of children. Activities are designed for elementary school-age youth.
This Summer’s Topics Include:
- July 13 – Soil: Is there a difference between soil and
dirt? What might it be? - July 20 – Worms & Sprouting Seeds: Are worms
important for growing plants? - July 27 – Insects: Which ones do we want in our gardens
and yards? - August 3 – Stepping Stones: Should I be walking in my
garden beds? - August 10 – Art in Nature: What do colors have to do with what I
need to eat?
We welcome your participation! The purpose of this garden is to involve children, families,
and the public in learning about sustainable gardening. In addition to crafts, learning and
fun, the food harvested by the children and adults goes to the Bremerton Salvation Army.
One or more adults must accompany each group of children. For individual groups of 6 or more, childcare centers, summer recreational program, etc., please RSVP one week in advance to: hari.stone@wsu.edu
