Kitsap Farm Tour

The 2nd Annual Kitsap Farm Tour will be Sunday, August 11th, 2024 from 10am – 4pm! This is an opportunity for the public to visit multiple farms across Kitsap in a one-day, self-guided tour.  Farms taking part are listed below. The tour is an initiative of the Kitsap Agritourism Coalition, a group of dedicated farmers working together to promote agritourism in Kitsap County. The event is supported by WSU Kitsap Extension and the Kitsap Community & Agricultural Alliance (KCAA).

The event is FREE to the public with a suggested donation of $10 per family/car. All donations go directly towards helping the Kitsap Agritourism Coalition of farmers continue to grow and improve the event for future years.

Interested in making a donation ahead of the farm tour date? You can do so by clicking the red donate button below. There will also be opportunities to donate the day of the event at all host sites on the tour. Just look for the Farm Tour Welcome Booths to make your donation and support this great event!

 

Want to be a volunteer for this years tour? We have welcome booth shifts that we would love to have help with. If interested, Please fill out our 2024 Volunteer Sign Up Form and one of our farmers will reach out to you to confirm your interest!

2024 Host Farm Sites

Farms listed below are open to the public for a one day only, self-guided farm tour, on August 11th, 2024, from 10am – 4pm. You can access your digital copy of the farm tour 2024 map here (map will be available in June!) or pick up a printed copy around town or at any of the host farms during the tour. We hope to see you out at one (or all) farms on August 11th!

NORTH KITSAP FARMS

The Smithshyre

About the Farm:
The Smithshyre is a 5-acre homestead offering farm tours, baby goat playtime sessions and Kitsap Goat Yoga. The Shyre offers education for new and beginning farmers looking to start their own urban homestead as well as educating the public about the importance of farming.

Bainbridge Vineyards

About the Farm:
Bainbridge Vineyards has been growing and making wine exclusively from our estate vineyards for over 45 years. Come taste wine in our wine garden next to where the grapes are grown. We are farming on part of a 40 acre parcel which is the oldest, continually farmed land in Kitsap, starting in 1928.

Winney Farm

About the Farm:
The Winney Family started a farm here in the 40’s and were a big provider for the community. We now honor the roots of this 20-acre farm with their name as we provide beef, pork, chicken, eggs, lamb, pumpkins and more through farmers markets, CSA and our self-serve farm store open to the public daily.

Farm Kitchen

Farm Kitchen is a story of local, sustainable farmland preservation. With a community-centered commercial kitchen, private event venue, and working produce and flower farm, Farm Kitchen inspires connectedness to land and agriculture through experiences made for everyone. Come mosey through the vegetable and flower fields at Farm Kitchen.

Beaver Bend Farm / Bushel and Barrel Ciderhouse

About the Farm:
Beaver Bend Farm is run in conjunction with Bushel and Barrel Ciderhouse, promoting agritourism along with craft ciders. Beaver Bend Farm hosts Scottish Highland Cattle, Kune Kune pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, alpacas, donkeys, sheep, and an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables. We have a lot planned to make your stop enjoyable.

Petal & Pitchfork Farm

About the Farm:
Petal & Pitchfork is a historic, 15-acre family owned and operated flower farm and homestead located just minutes from downtown Poulsbo. Settled in the late 1800’s by a Finnish family, our family purchased the farm in January 2017 where we now grow commercial cut flowers on 3/4 of an acre which includes annual and perennial fields, multiple high tunnels and our dahlia + peony field. Petal & Pitchfork utilizes regenerative agriculture practices and encourages native and pollinator habitat. Our family is passionate about local farmland preservation.

CENTRAL KITSAP FARMS

Pheasant Fields Farm

About the Farm:
Pheasant Fields Farm is a family farm owned by the Johanson family. Originally it was part of a 640-acre John Holmes homestead that Peder Peterson, a logger by trade, purchased 20 acres in 1885. His nephew Conrad Peterson developed the farm into an egg ranch in the early 1900′s where they shipped eggs from Silverdale as far as around Cape Horn, South America! Nikki Johanson’s family purchased the farm in 1949. The farm has become more diversified in recent years by adding different livestock, vegetable production and agritourism. Come out and enjoy all that this historical farm has to offer!
