But getting into that lovely greenery can be difficult, if not impossible, for people with limited mobility. Accessible gardening techniques can help people of all ages and physical abilities.

Join Clallam County Master Gardener Cathy Wagner for the Green Thumb Education Series presentation, “Tips & Tricks for Accessible Gardens,” and find out how you can make gardening easier for everyone.

The 2024 Green Thumb Education Series presentation “Tips and Tricks for Accessible Gardens” will be held in person on Thursday,  June 25th from noon – 1:00 p.m. at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 510 E Park Ave, in Port Angeles and will be broadcast live via Zoom.

Cathy will discuss how raised and elevated garden beds can help reduce the need to stoop or squat to tend plants. They will also talk about the benefits of vertical and container gardening to make gardening easier.

Cathy is a Clallam County Master Gardener who became involved in the Accessible Garden project at Woodcock Demonstration Garden in Sequim to be able to demonstrate how gardening can still be a viable passion for people with mobility issues.
