Pruning Dormant Berries

Join the Master Gardeners for the Homegrown Berries Series of 2026.
This series is a collaboration between Clallam County Master Gardeners, Lazy J Tree Farm and the Olympic Orchard Society. It will be led by veteran Master Gardeners Jeanette Stehr-Green and Audreen Williams.

A demonstration titled “Pruning Dormant Berries”
will be held on Saturday, February 28th, 2026
from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
at the Lazy J Tree Farm
225 Gehrke Road, Port Angeles
Participants will learn how to:
- Select berry varieties suited to the North Olympic Peninsula and the microclimate
- Transplant the berry plants at the proper depth and spacing
- Identify (and prepare) a planting site conducive to good growth
- Care for the plants to keep them healthy and ensure a good harvest
