Computers & Robotics
Our current technology program consists of computer hardware / software, beginning and advanced robotics, electronics and 3D printing. Youth are encouraged to explore the world of technology through direct engagement with the hardware and software that enables the modern world. In addition, we sponsor robotics teams in all age groups through a collaboration with FIRST.
Participants in the technology program learn how to build and program computers, build their own robots, learn basic electronics and conduct independent research. Web technology, networking, and security are woven throughout the program. Our latest news can be found from our Facebook page.
Multiple clubs participate in the Technology Program, each contributing something unique to the program. Read more about each by following the links below:
Model Railroading
In the 4-H Model Railroading project, youth ages 5 thru 18 have opportunity to learn about model railroading concepts through hands-on learning, such as:
- how to create a layout
- soldering, woodworking, wiring
- model train maintenance
- railroad history
- running trains at the train show and Fair
Through their activities, youth also develop valuable life skills, such as collaboration, safety, leadership, decision-making, and self-confidence.
This project is currently offered through Esprit de Corps 4-H Club.
